Nova Galaxi 16In-44In DVR Lathe
NOVA galaxy DVR 1624-44 is the latest from the NOVA stable. It combines the best features of larger lathes – power, capacity and capability, with its incredible DVR intelligent direct drive motor, to deliver a super smooth, intelligent and versatile turning experience. It offers 1.75 HP / 110 V of direct drive, no belts (for ultra smooth and quiet performance), 100 to 5000 rpm, with high torque throughout the speed range for any turning project – be it a pen or a large, heavy bowl. This lathe has the most advanced DVR (Digital variable reluctance) features, including speed chart to advise the correct speed setting, optional electronic braking, dial-in 8 customizable favorite speeds, and safety sensing. The DVR motor uses smart motor technology to constantly monitor the spindle, increasing power to maintain the set speed as it senses extra load from the tool. The DVR drive constantly varies power needs according to conditions, and depending on the application, it can save up to 50% of electrical power compared to conventional motors. This is built around a solid cast iron swivel headstock and a large cast iron bed and stand, giving the lathe powerful, solid and vibration free performance. The galaxy has a wide speed range from a very low 100 rpm up to 5000 rpm. It features easy-to-use dial-speed control, making it the perfect lathe solution from micro to macro turning work. Its comprehensive menu naturally includes reverse turning, as well as assisted electronic braking as an option. The NOVA galaxy DVR offers 405 mm (16 In.) swing capacity (expandable to 735 mm (29 In.) with the optional outrigger accessory) and 1,115 mm (44 In.) between centers. The cast iron headstock can swivel 360 degrees and lock in any position, plus detest pin positions at 0, 22, 45 and 90 degrees for extra lock over and accuracy. The headstock can slide along the bed to provide maximum flexibility in positioning the headstock and tools. The tailstock features a self ejecting center.
